Get ready for a dynamic concert experience with The Expanding Man, an exceptional band celebrating the timeless music of Steely Dan while exploring exciting new musical directions. Combining world-class musicianship, inventive arrangements, humor, and engaging live entertainment, The Expanding Man delivers a performance that goes beyond simply recreating the original records.
Fronted by Steve Memmolo, a finalist on NBC’s The Voice, the band features an impressive lineup of accomplished musicians. Acclaimed guitarist Jon Zeeman brings an outstanding musical background that includes credits with Susan Tedeschi and members of The Allman Brothers Band. The lineup also includes Peter Primamore, a wildly entertaining pianist and award-winning composer whose personality and musical talent add another exciting dimension to the performance.
Fans can look forward to beloved Steely Dan classics such as “Peg,” “Josie,” “Reelin’ in the Years,” and “Kid Charlemagne.” Alongside these familiar favorites, The Expanding Man performs original music inspired by the distinctive wit, sophistication, and jazz-infused harmonies of Steely Dan’s Walter Becker and Donald Fagen.
The result is a unique blend of faithful interpretations and inventive musical exploration. Rather than simply recreating the studio recordings, the band brings the music to life with fresh energy, spontaneous interaction, humor, and personality. Every performance feels vibrant, exciting, and alive, offering audiences a chance to experience these sophisticated songs in a new way.
Known for genuine excitement, emotional peaks, and crowds that often become fully immersed in the moment, The Expanding Man creates an unforgettable concert experience for devoted Steely Dan fans and music lovers alike.
