This Privacy Policy explains how What’s Happening Around Town may collect and use personal information. Some described features—including accounts, paid advertising and weekly newsletters—are planned, not yet active.
Depending on enabled features, we may receive names, email addresses, phone numbers, city or ZIP preferences, inquiry messages, account and advertiser details, event content, order and billing records, device identifiers, IP addresses, browser and interaction data, and security logs. Do not submit sensitive personal information through ordinary forms.
Information may be used to provide local event discovery, respond to inquiries, create accounts when enabled, publish and moderate event advertising, operate paid plans, deliver subscribed newsletters, protect the site, comply with law, and understand the performance of the website and marketing campaigns.
Google Analytics may measure traffic and usage if tracking is installed. Google Ads may be used for advertising performance and conversion measurement, and personalized advertising only if configured and permitted. Google Search Console provides indexing and search-performance reporting for website administrators. The actual tags and consent implementation must be audited before live tracking and advertising deployment. See Google’s Privacy Policy.
When WooCommerce launches, it may process customer identity, billing contact, order contents, payment status, and accounting records. Payment credentials should be securely collected by the selected payment gateway, not through ordinary contact forms. The processor and detailed retention information will be updated when chosen.
WordPress and other tools may use essential cookies. Optional analytics and advertising technologies may require notice and consent depending on location. Read our Cookie Policy. A consent management tool must be implemented where required; a policy alone does not record consent.
Information may be disclosed to vendors helping provide hosting, security, communication, analytics, advertising, checkout or legal compliance, and event information intended for public display may be published. Information should be retained only as necessary for the relevant purpose or legal requirements. Vendor agreements, transfer safeguards and exact retention periods require confirmation before commercial launch.
Depending on applicable law, you may request access, correction, deletion, marketing opt-out, and other privacy rights. You can unsubscribe from marketing emails when available. We intend to use reasonable security safeguards, although no system is risk free. The service is not directed toward collecting personal data from children. See our GDPR & Data Rights notice.
For privacy requests use our Contact page. The legal identity and direct privacy contact for the data controller must be confirmed and added before commercial launch. We will update this policy when vendors and features are finalized.
